t only seems like yesterday when 18-year-old Disney star Miley Cyrus started out on TV as Hannah Montana, the pop star who led a double life. All she did then was worry about not being able to live a normal life if her secret is revealed – and sing about it. As with all other young stars in Hollywood, however, Hannah Montana had to grow up some time; and she did.
Miley Cyrus in SpainControversy followed Cyrus as she began singing songs that did not deal with Hannah’s double-life, accompanied by videos that were a deviation from her perceived image. And then there was that video of her smoking Salvia from a bong, giggling uncontrollably, days after turning 18.
Recent photos on X17 show Miley sporting a new tattoo on her rib cage, smoking in her car. While some readers commented that the star should be allowed to do what she wants and should be left alone, and that there are people who have done worse things, there are those who think that cigarette smoking is not exactly the healthiest thing for someone who sings for a living to do.
At any rate, the 18-year-old was recently named “Worst Celebrity Influence of 2010,” for the second year in a row. She reportedly scored 58% of the nearly 99,000 votes cast on JSYK.com, by the website’s target audience, which consists of 9 to 15 year olds. Other stars on the list were Lindsay Lohan, Kanye West, and Chace Crawford.
Smoking is a habit that many are trying to get rid of, because of its immediate and lasting side effects on a person’s health. It certainly does not make sense to see anyone start lighting up now.
